About the Position

Sephora Internships provide an inclusive and comprehensive experience that equips young professionals with the tools needed to align their passions with work. The 10-week internship program develops early career professionals by providing interns with hands-on learning, personal and professional networking opportunities, and the ability to work on projects that directly impact the business. 

The Sephora internship program is also a prerequisite for consideration for LEAP, the cross-functional rotational program that provides on-the-job training in each of three Business Units-Supply Chain, Marketing, and Merchandising, over the course of nine months.  LEAP prepares successfully performing trainees for a full-time, entry-level role in one of the three Business Units.  Interns are invited to apply to LEAP at the beginning of the summer internship. 

Program Details

An inclusive and engaging experience that develops technical and professional skills through weekly virtual workshops, networking opportunities, and career panels that provide exposure to Sephora’s career growth opportunities.

2025 PROGRAM DATES:

  • June 2 - August 15, 2025

  • Working hours: 36hrs/week. Monday – Friday, PST

  • June 16 – 19:  On-Site Week in San Francisco at headquarters office

  • June 30 – July 4: Week off for vacation

Your Role at Sephora

As the Visual Design Intern, you will report into a Senior Visual Designer to support the Retail Engagement team. Under the guidance of a Senior Visual Designer, you will play an essential role in conceptualizing and developing compelling graphics and interactive elements that visually convey complex messages. Your responsibilities will span from planning and managing projects and tasks to executing deliverables, ensuring a seamless journey from concept to completion. Leveraging the design process, you will create dynamic print and digital training tools for both desktop and mobile devices. Your focus will be on crafting user-centered design experiences that not only maximize learner retention but also encapsulate the unique Sephora brand experience.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Assisting the Senior Visual Designer in creating and editing visual assets and graphic materials for interactive eLearning modules (mobile and desktop wireframes), microsites, PowerPoints, and interactive PDF’s 

  • Participating in creative brainstorms, team and project meetings and weekly check-ins to engage in collaboration with other designers, eLearning Developers and Instructional designers 

  • Organizing files and graphics, following the Visual Design team standards 

  • Gaining experience and knowledge in new techniques and best practices in design while keeping yourself updated with the latest developments and innovations, using them to enhance your skills and creativity 

  • Developing key business skills such as time management, receiving and giving feedback, communication, presentation skills, and collaboration 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Is currently completing a BA or BFA in related field (Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Product Development, Interactive Design, Digital Design) 

  • Has a passion for graphic design, visual communication and a functional understanding of design theory and principles 

  • Possesses strong knowledge of design tools and prototyping software such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop with proficiency in other Adobe CC tools 

  • Has working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 

  • An understanding of Web UI standards, responsive design frameworks (basic HTML, CSS, and Java script knowledge is a plus), environmental graphics, and/or production process 

  • A general understanding of digital trends, especially in the fashion and beauty space 

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Graduating in 2025 or 2026 (undergraduate or graduate degree)

  • Remote program – work schedule must align with Pacific Standard Time  

  • Must permanently reside and work in the U.S.  

  • Must be open to relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area upon graduation for consideration for full-time hybrid positions *

  • Available for the 1-week On-Site office experience in San Francisco, CA 

The target hourly pay for this position is $23.00 - $23.00 per hour. The actual hourly pay offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the individual applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
