About the Position
MAC’s media strategy leads with earned media, therefore, we are looking to fulfill role with energetic candidate who understands the social ecosystem at large with a focus on influencers, artists, and creators holistically against brand values. This role will serve as the owner of MAC’s Global Social earned tactics, and support owned media levers including but not limited to researching beauty landscape, with a detailed understanding of media, creator identification, collaboration management, data measurement & analysis, and assisting broadly on both Global social media and influencer marketing strategy and execution. Critically, this role is responsible for driving cultural relevancy across emerging social platforms including TikTok, primarily through earned and owned social content & creator partnerships.
Responsibilities
Global Media Strategy
Collaborate with Director, Global Media Innovation on influencer and social strategy development for specified program launches across categories, inputting to Global toolkits as required
Work in partnership with key cross functional teams to request and strategize content and programming opportunities to support key brand moments.
Ensure an up-to-date understanding of beauty/fashion landscape and media opportunities to remain at top of industry and lead reporting through brand analytic tools
Influencer Marketing Support
Maintain an understanding of the overall influencer landscape and functionality related to each social media platform (i.e. TikTok, Instagram & YouTube in priority order). Research and stay up to date on top tier influencer brand partnerships and monitor competitive partnerships regularly. Share updates to Leadership as requested.
Identify relationship building opportunities on channel of priority (TikTok), entering conversation, and driving product seeding to build groundswell on the platform
Serve as the point of contact for regional Influencer functions as well as product ordering, product sends, and product seeding ideation.
Partner with cross-functional and working teams on execution of influencer activations (i.e: virtual events) by managing travel arrangements, budgeting, asset delivery, and market correspondence.
Support the ideation, strategy, execution, and reporting on influencer collaborations globally, regionally, and at the market level with recaps, assessment and consolidated learnings.
Provide insight and point of view on all brand launches from an influencer perspective to deliver best in class earned media results across social platforms.
Support completion of Global Brand Guidelines for each program launch across category.
Maintain global influencer list that is succinct with brand objectives, messaging, and overall aesthetic to successfully drive brand awareness.
Research and identify new categories of influencer relationship building to expand network consistently.
Utilize brand influencer analytic tools for reporting (Tribe), by identifying success metrics for each influencer campaign and ensuring best accuracy of both global & regional tracking. Present to cross functional teams and leadership as needed.
Social Media Measurement & Platform Analysis
Partner with Manager, Global Social Media to collect data and gather insights in order to create weekly and ad-hoc social media reports to measure performance. Analyze insights, highlights trends and make recommendations based on data.
Lead on TikTok analytics and reporting as specialist in this emerging space, with the ability to weave a story crafted by data & analysis
Responsible for keeping a pulse on competitor activity and what’s trending on emerging social platforms, communicating and sharing those trends with internal teams, and finding creative opportunities to interpret them in the MAC brand voice
Manage brand TikTok partnership and opportunities with support of Media Innovation Team to increase followership, drive awareness, and encourage brand virality
Qualifications
Four-year college degree or equivalent.
2 years related experience, e.g., managing community outreach, building brand advocacy.
TikTok native – you understand social media inside and out as an avid user of all platforms
Excellent communication, writing and quantitative skills.
Experience working with content management tools and/or social media analytics tools a plus.
Ability to work in fast-paced highly creative environment.
Project management skills including scheduling and timelines, budgeting, and communications.
Understanding of how to create “brand appropriate (non-corporate) voice” in social media to build authentic, relevant, interactive consumer relationships.
Ability to navigate among multiple constituents, platforms and communities to ensure strategies/goals are understood and met.
Capability to work with regional and local teams with a strong understanding of cultural nuances.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Positive, “can do” team player, working well with other teams/departments in a cross-functional environment.
Beauty industry experience a plus.
Influencer/Media PR background a plus.
Community management experience, particularly with a global brand’s Instagram account, a plus.
Bilingual candidates preferred.
