About the Position

Are you a passionate outdoor enthusiast with experience in marketing, sales, or retail? Field Scout, in collaboration with Thule, is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Field Marketing Representatives (FMRs). In this role, you will be responsible for conducting a series of events and clinics to promote Thule products and the outdoor lifestyle.

As an FMR, you will hit the road for a solo city-by-city regional tour and engage participants in conversations. You will be facilitating a positive experience and telling the Thule brand story, while also being responsible for setting up and breaking down all event equipment.

In addition to your salary, all travel expenses (including airfare and accommodations) will be covered and a food allowance will be provided.

A little about you…

  • Love for travel or getting outside, meeting new people, and making new connections

  • 1–3+ years of marketing, sales, or retail experience; guide experience is a plus

  • Extraordinary attention to detail, follow-through, and time-management skills

  • Commitment to internalizing brand image/message

  • Highly motivated, organized, flexible, positive, and outgoing

  • Ability to handle pressure and work in a constantly changing atmosphere

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record (acceptable to our insurance carrier for inclusion on our coverage for business-related travel); experience driving a large vehicle is a plus

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., perform duties in wide variations in temperature, perform repetitive movements, climb a ladder and stairs, walk, lift, stoop, sit, and/or stand for long periods of time

  • Cycling experience preferred

  • Comfortable camping and sleeping in a rooftop tent

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned tasks and projects autonomously while communicating progress to team and supervisors through a concise and constant flow of information, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget

  • Professionally represent Thule in all interactions with event organizers, attendees, and retail employees

  • Communicate with event organizers to coordinate logistics and event details (upon intro from Field Scout)

  • Manage regional events, including setting up and striking 10’ x 10’ tents and event assets

  • Stage elements to meet Thule's branding standards and conduct static demos of Thule products

  • Report event progress weekly, including providing photos of each event

  • Manage inventory of promotional items (swag) and ensure incremental restocking

  • Maintain product knowledge, with acute attention to launch dates, product differentiators, performance, functionality, and price points

  • Strive to proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment with positivity and composure

  • Able to tell a good story and be an active listener

  • Able and willing to work nontraditional hours—this position is 100% travel based from late April to November

Actual starting pay for this role is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, relevant skills,, education, and geographic location.
