About the Position

Program Overview

Discover opportunities designed to set your career in motion! The Comcast internship/co-op program will help you cultivate meaningful relationships, develop strong interpersonal and business skills, gain exposure to the day-to-day operations of a Fortune 40 media and technology company, and receive mentorship opportunities to expand your professional network.  

This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. 

Organization & Team Overview 

Xfinity Growth, Innovation, and Experience drives business growth and customer engagement with emphasis on how Xfinity takes its products and services to market — and delivering a reliable, end-to-end experience to our customers, no matter which market or region they live in. XGIE teams are responsible for Xfinity brand and product strategy, including its video, broadband, voice, home, and mobile products, as well as consumer sales and marketing, digital platforms, and data intelligence.   

The Editorial Platform Merchandising team focuses on Xfinity & Xumo cross-platform editorial strategy, content workflow management, distribution processes, and platform operations. Moreover, the team will cultivate relationships with TPX to prioritize optimizations for our tools and products. 

Role Description

Join us as an Entertainment Editorial Intern and dive deep into the heart of the entertainment industry. This role offers you a chance to work closely with experienced editors and content creators, giving you invaluable hands-on experience and guidance in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. This is a unique opportunity to connect with industry professionals, build meaningful relationships, and refine your skills in a dynamic environment. 

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of curating engaging content that speaks directly to our diverse audience. You'll explore innovative ways to present and amplify our entertainment offerings, collaborating with internal teams to shape and enhance our content strategies. Your creativity and enthusiasm will play a key role in ensuring our audience enjoys and connects with top-tier TV shows, movies, music, and more. 

You’ll also work closely with talented professionals to develop and optimize our editorial content, identifying opportunities and gaps that could influence the future of television. Success will be measured by your ability to speed up content delivery, improve content discoverability, and collaborate effectively across teams to drive continuous improvement.  

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on TV shows, movies, and industry trends to ensure content accuracy. This may include competitive analysis to understand market positioning.  

  • Trend Monitoring: Stay informed about the latest entertainment news, trends, and releases to generate fresh and relevant content ideas.  

  • Team Collaboration: Partner with the editorial team to review and provide constructive feedback on content, ensuring alignment with quality standards and consistency.  

  • Content Programming: Pitch content ideas to editors based on the entertainment slate. Learn to use content management systems and assist in programming content for Xfinity platforms if needed.  

  • Quality Control: Regularly review editorial content on platforms to identify and suggest updates, ensuring content remains accurate and engaging.  

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications

Preferred Skills 

  • “Entertainment Omnivore”: Must have a general affinity for and understanding of the entertainment and pop cultural landscape, including TV, movies, gaming, music, sports, etc. 

  • Trend Awareness: Stay ahead of the curve by maintaining a keen awareness of the latest entertainment and media trends. From breaking news and upcoming releases to emerging industry shifts and cultural phenomena, you’ll use your up-to-date knowledge to generate fresh, relevant content ideas that captivate and engage our audience. 

  • Research Proficiency: Ability to conduct thorough research on TV shows, movies, and industry trends, including competitive analysis to inform content.

  • Content Management Systems (CMS): Familiarity with CMS platforms and the ability to learn and adapt to new tools for content programming and scheduling.  

  • Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze content performance and identify areas for improvement, contributing to strategic content development.  

  • Critical Thinking: Strong critical thinking skills to assess content effectiveness, solve problems creatively, and make informed decisions based on data and trends.  

  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with editorial teams, providing feedback and supporting content reviews.  

  • Creativity: Innovative thinking to develop fresh content ideas and creative solutions for enhancing content delivery.  

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in content creation and quality control to ensure error-free and engaging material.  

  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and industry professionals.  

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and learn new systems or processes as needed.  

  • Preferred Majors: Media Studies, Film/Television Studies, Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism, Cultural Studies 

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university  

  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2025- Spring 2027)  

  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating) 

  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025 

  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs 

  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Base Pay: $23.00
